ECCAA Conference
On June 5-7, 2006 the annual conference of the Eurasian Council of the Certified Accountants and Auditors (ECCAA) was held in St-Petersburg (Russia).
The Council was founded in 2001 with the aim of cooperate on development and rise of status of the profession of the accountant and auditor, implantation and use of international professional standards, principles, practice and ethics worked out by the International Accountants Federation (IAF) and the Committee of International Accountants Standards (CIAS).
In order to achieve this goal the ECCAA realizes its activity in the sphere of elaboration and support of the unified qualification requirements based on the IAF recommendations for accountant and auditor; the Council participates in creation and functioning of the Unified accountants and auditors testing and certification system.
The given conference was dedicated to discussion of the fiscal and economical activity of the ECCAA; a review of certification and current situation in the member-states was held; the ways of development за the CIPA program was discussed, as well.
Specialists of financial, accounting and auditing institutions, representatives of educational programs, the heads of the Accountants and Auditors Chambers from 10 CIS countries (Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Turkmenistan and others) took part in the Conference.
Mr. Nurlan Alimbetov, Managing Partner of GRATA-AUDIT, the Chairman of the professional accountants and auditors Chamber of the Republic of Kazakhstan, ECCAA full member attended the event, too.
